We know you may have questions before joining the Uganda Health Informatics Association (UgHIA). To help you make the right choice, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about membership categories, benefits, and how to get started.

Anyone interested in health informatics can join UgHIA. We have membership categories for students, professionals, senior fellows, institutions, and even a free tier (Affiliate) for the general public and newcomers.

Benefits depend on your membership type, but all members receive access to UgHIA updates, networking opportunities, and events. Professional and Fellow members enjoy additional privileges such as voting rights, leadership eligibility, access to toolkits, mentorship opportunities, and recognition in the UgHIA community.

You can register online via the UgHIA website (ughia.org) by filling out the membership form. Payments can be made securely through mobile money, bank transfer, or other supported channels. Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive your membership ID and benefits activation.

Yes. Members can upgrade from Affiliate to Student, Professional, or Fellow membership at any time by paying the applicable annual fee and meeting the eligibility requirements.
